Yesterday, the reporter learned from Xiamen Customs that from January to May this year, the total value of foreign trade imports and exports in our city reached 358.77 billion yuan, an increase of 7.2%over last year. Among them, the total import value was 176.77 billion yuan, a year -on -year increase of 3.1%; the total export value was 182 billion yuan, a year -on -year increase of 11.5%. In May, the total value of import and export in May was 83.05 billion yuan, an increase of 11.3%over the same period last year. The import and export value reached a new high in a single month. Among them, imports increased by 12.4%year -on -year, and exports increased by 10.3%year -on -year.

Data show that private enterprises account for the highest proportion of imports and exports. From January to May, the import and export value of our civic enterprises was 13.336 billion yuan, an increase of 7.7%year-on-year, accounting for 37.2%of the total import and export value of our city during the same period; the proportion of state-owned enterprises accounted for 36.2%, and foreign investment companies accounted for 26.6% Essence

It is understood that exports are mainly electromechanical products and labor -intensive products. From January to May, the city's export mechanical and electrical products were 80.59 billion yuan, an increase of 9.7%year-on-year, accounting for 44.3%of the total export value of our city during the same period; 7 major labor-intensive products such as export textiles and clothing were 50.74 billion yuan, an increase of 18.5%year-on-year. It accounts for 27.9%.

The import is mainly electromechanical products and agricultural products. From January to May, the city's imported mechanical and electrical products was 36.27 billion yuan, an increase of 0.2%year-on-year, accounting for 20.5%of the total import value of our city during the same period; imported agricultural products were 32.84 billion yuan, an increase of 9.1%year-on-year, accounting for 18.6%.

According to the relevant person in charge of Xiamen Customs, the city's trade exchanges with BRICS countries are constantly deepening. From January to May, the city's import and export scale of the city reached 28.34 billion yuan, an increase of 10.8%year-on-year. In addition, the city's import and export of RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) continued to grow. From January to May, the city's import and export value to RCEP member states reached 20.34 billion yuan, an increase of 1.5%year-on-year, of which the growth rate of imports and exports to Myanmar and Cambodia exceeded 30%.
