Global GDS giant Amadeus recently released a data report that the hotel occupancy rate of hotels from April to May this year has exceeded the level before the epidemic. According to forecast data, the hotel reservation volume from June-August will be the same as that in 2019, and it may increase significantly.
Data show that the ADR of global hotels increased by 11%compared to 2019, and the booking window of most rooms was less than 7 days.
Because the epidemic has caused the implementation of travel restrictions in various places and brought many uncertainty, the hotel has poor operating conditions in the past two years, and a large number of suppressed demands this summer may be released. AMADEUS is expected to be the busiest quarter of tourism since the epidemic, and hotel operators need to prepare to meet the needs of passengers.

The hotel's occupancy rate reaches the level before the epidemic
According to the Demand360 commercial intelligent data released by Amadeus, since March this year, the hotel reservation has reached the same period of 2019. The occupancy rate in April exceeded the same period of the same period in 2019, and the occupancy rate in May reached 63%, an increase of 3 percentage points compared to the same period in 2019. The United States and Canada performed well. The occupancy rates in May reached 68%and 64%, an increase of 7-8 percentage points compared with the same period in 2019.
In contrast, the hotel occupancy rate of Greater China has still had a certain gap between the same period in 2019. According to the data as of June 17, AmaDeus has the highest hotel occupancy rate in February in Greater China, 40%; the occupancy rate in June was 31%, a decrease of nearly 20 percentage points compared to the same period in 2019.
At present, the global occupancy rate from June-August is expected to be 1 percentage point lower than the same period in 2019.

The booking window of over half an order is less than 7 days
Booking the window, that is, the number of days for passengers to book hotels from actual travel is also an important criterion for measuring the recovery of the hotel industry. AmaDeus data shows that 54%of the world's tourism products are booked within one week before travel, which means that the actual occupancy rate of global hotels this summer still has a lot of room for improvement.
At present, 55%of the guest room booking windows in the US market are about 33%in Europe within one week, of which 33%of France, 35%in Germany, and 36%and 39%in Spain and Britain, respectively. The Greater China has up to 87%of the guest room booking windows within one week.

ADR increased 11% compared to the same period in 2019
In April 2020, the hotel ADR fell to $ 83, a record low. As demand increases, ADR is growing steadily. According to AMADEUS's forecast, the global hotels will reach $ 200 from June-August this year, an increase of 11%compared to the same period in 2019. Among them, the ADR of French hotels in July will reach $ 428, an increase of 29%compared to the same period in 2019.
Travel restrictions also affect the source of customers. According to AmaDeus's ticket booking data as of June 4, 2022, this summer, the United States will be the largest source of ports in immigration flights, followed by Britain, France, Germany and Canada.

The amount of car rental increased by 33% year -on -year
According to the data provided by AmaDeus as of June 3, this year's global car rental demand is also increasing. The car rental volume from June-August is expected to increase by 33%year-on-year, with an average rental period of 6 days, which is more than one day last year. The daily rent will also rise from $ 92 to $ 102.
Judging from the performance of 2021, 54%of the order is less than a week before the travel time, and there is still a lot of room for growth in the actual reservation volume this summer.
Katie Moro, vice president of data cooperation in Amadeus Hotel, said that AmaDeus's data will help tourism companies formulate strategies and prepare to welcome the growth of summer demand. For example, the proportion of passengers' booking rooms within 7 days can increase, which can bring confidence to hotel operators and keep them in house prices instead of attracting passengers by lowering prices.
