My husband and I are Canadians and I have been in Shanghai for 21 years. Since moving into this 80 square meters of old house in December 2007, it gradually entrusted our family of 5 and a cat.

Of course, we also have something to change. For more than 50 days of the epidemic, five people and a cat were crowded into a 80 square meters of house. Three children went online. I hid several times to the bathroom, just to find a little quiet.

It was because I wanted to understand Chinese culture and know neighbors that I did not find high -level modern houses. If we want to change a house in Shanghai, within the scope of the budget, we will still find a similar community, continue to use environmentally friendly and natural materials, install solar water heaters, etc. When renovation in 2005, the air purifier has not yet been popularized. If we are renovated now, we may add an automation system for air purification and air quality monitoring.

At the same time, we must also be anxious for stagnant work, and how the three children in the family have done their homework, whether they are sensitive and afraid, and they must also care about. Some environmentally friendly living habits are indeed not able to maintain it.

However, the pace of life in Shanghai is getting faster and faster, and at the same time, we are more likely to buy ecological products. Therefore, we are more focused on zero wasteful life, eating healthy, avoiding takeaway, and buying organic, seasonal and local ingredients at the same time.

Once we loved Mogan Mountain, I haven't gone for a long time, but we still choose to have the hearts of forests and farms and enjoy the feeling of running in nature. Last year we went to Shengsi Island, Qiandao Lake, and the plateau in Sichuan.

In the past two or three years, I occasionally brought two daughters to organic farms in Shanghai to be volunteers. They ate and lived in the farm. When they woke up, they went to the ground or to work in the greenhouse to learn to be farmers. I feel that after the epidemic, especially after staying at home, more and more people like to go to nature and feel the land and fresh air.

You ask me, can I still say new ideas about environmental protection? The environmental protection of our ordinary people is the choice of eating, wearing, living, and traveling. Based on the basic things such as cups, shopping bags, etc., they can achieve "zero abandonment" behavior. These are not different from what they said twenty years ago. But we must constantly remind each other to make small and useful changes.

Our behavior can also leave a little seed in the child's heart. I used to make clothes for my children with organic cotton. The two daughters saw me cut tailoring and felt that I could do it, so Saia liked to wear old clothes for dolls from an early age. Now I still use waste fabrics to make bags. If Han used to spend 3 years, he made a large patchwork cover. On the one hand, the fabric used was the old cloth and her old clothes we found in China. Each piece of cloth is cut into almost the same big cloth, and then stitching each other.

Our family is very small. After calculating, the per capita area is only a dozen square meters, so the storage space is very precious. Books, toys, clothes, etc. Once we accumulate, we must selectively deal with some old things, donate to the recycling agency or send it to the second -hand item exchange market.

But slowly, especially last year, we found that basically Chinese were Chinese, old, young and young. They think this is a good thing. Many clothes are new. If they throw it away, they waste. We have also developed from exchanging clothes to exchanges, daily necessities, and so on.

As early as ten years ago, because of the sensitive skin, I started making a small organic cotton children's clothing brand. I still remember that when we first arrived in Shanghai, it was difficult to find environmental protection and sustainable daily objects in the market. Until now, more and more people are talking about environmental protection. My sense of urgency in the market has gradually decreased.

He has also been to our SWAP many times, and feels that SWAP once a month or a few months cannot meet the needs.
