Cuban truck driver Hu An Lopez: I have waited for 15 days and have not added oil yet. There is a list of lining up in the gas station. On each list, one person may have 4 to 5 vehicles sign up, so you can only wait.

It is understood that because of insufficient fuel imports, Cuba is facing the problem of diesel and gasoline. Expert analysis said that due to the serious shortage of fuel inventory of the Cuban -Pacific heat power plant, the thermal power plant failed and caused power outage. In this case, the energy department should allocate domestic fuel inventory to ensure power generation, resulting in a significant insufficient supply of gas stations.

About half of Cuba imported from Venezuela. As Venezuela's fuel output was not enough to meet its own needs, and international oil prices rose, Cuba continued to decline in fuel imports from the country. According to data released by Venezuela National Petroleum Corporation, the fuel volume exported to Cuba in the first quarter of this year was about 22,000 barrels per day. This number was half of 2020.
