Egypt ’s President Inaugurates TRIAL RUN of China-Made LRT

On July 3rd, the Egyptian fast -rail railway was opened to traffic on the 10th of Egypt ’s fast -moving rail on the 10th of Egypt. Liao Liqiang said that on the 10th of the Ramadan, the urban electrification light rail project is one of the iconic projects of the "Belt and Road" cooperation between China and Egypt and the development of the development of comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. The relationship is significant. The project adopts Chinese technology and equipment. It is jointly implemented by enterprises in the two countries. It is the first major project in China's entire industry chain to enter Egypt. It has the characteristics of high technical standards, high equipment proportion, and high added value. According to the relevant person in charge of the China Railway -AVIC International Union of China Railway, the total length of the first and second stages of the project is about 70 kilometers, with a total of 12 stations, 1 vehicle section, and 2 traction substations. The train adopts 6 fixed group, with a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour. The train was connected to the Cairo Metro Line 3 at the starting point station Adeli Mansur Station. It passed the City of Abille, Schruk, and Bader City.

Egypt ’s First Electrify Light Rail Transit (LRT) System Jointly Built by Chinese and Egyptian Companies Started ITS TRIAL Run On Jury 3, 2022.

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi took the first ride of the LRT at its inauguration ceremony, which was also attended by Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang.

The LRT project is the fruit of a 1.24-billion-U.S. dollar contract signed in August 2017 between Egypt’s National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) and the consortium of China Railway Engineering Corporation and AVIC International Holding Corporation (CREC-AVIC INTL Consortium).

The rail project connects the New Administrative Capital (NAC) being constructed east of Cairo with surrounding distant new cities and districts including El-Salam City, 10th of Ramadan City, El-Obour City, Badr City and El-Shorouk City.

Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel El-WAZIR SAID The First Phase of the Lrt Contains 22 Trains and Will Serve 360,000 PASSSENGERS DAILY.

Phases, and the Current Phase that is bebing inaugurated on july 3 Covers a Distance of About 70 Kilometers with 12 Stations.

"The Project was financed by China, Adopted Chinese Technology and Equipment, and WAS Jointly Implemented by Chinese and Egyptian Enterprises," Liao SAID.
