The earthquake occurred at 15:37 on the 15th local time (3:37 on the 16th of Beijing time). The epicenter was located at the waters of 517 kilometers west of Merlinka Town in Eisen's region. The depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometers.
The Chilean Navy's Hydrological and Oceanic Bureau's tsunami warning department said the earthquake would not cause tsunami.
