On July 15, the cover reporter learned from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism that according to the results of domestic tourism sampling surveys, in the first half of 2022, the total number of domestic tourism was 1.455 billion, a decrease of 22.2%over last year.

Among them, domestic tourists in urban residents were 1.091 billion, a decrease of 16.6%; domestic tourists in rural residents were 364 million, a decrease of 35.4%.In the quarter, the number of domestic tourists in the first quarter was 830 million, a year -on -year decrease of 19.0%; the number of domestic tourists in the second quarter was 625 million, a year -on -year decrease of 26.2%.

In addition, domestic tourism income (total tourism consumption) 1.17 trillion yuan, a decrease of 28.2%over the previous year.Among them, the tourism consumption of urban residents was 94 trillion yuan, a decrease of 26.7%; the tourism consumption of rural residents was 2.23 trillion yuan, a decrease of 33.8%.
