Shark is one of the oldest species on the planet. There are fossil records that they swim in the ocean at least 420 million years ago. And modern sharks have existed for about 100 million years, that is to say, they have lived with dinosaurs. At present, there are more than 500 kinds of sharks in the world, and their bodies can be placed from Rhincodon Typus from 10 meters from the pockets that can put in the palm of the palm.
In the culture of Hawaii and some Pacific islands, sharks have always been respectful and respect for sharks. They believe that sharks are perfect hunters and predators, and there are many legendary stories and myths about them. However, Hollywood movies such as "Great White Shark" and "Shark Beach" described sharks as bloodthirsty and revenge monsters. This is unfair to sharks. Because of more than 500 sharks, only 6%will attack humans. According to scientific research, most sharks are gentle, and even shyness will not be able to get close to people, let alone take the initiative to hurt humans.
The preciousness of the shark
After more than 400 million years of evolution, sharks have a variety of exquisite biological structures. In addition to having five basic perception skills, sharks also have a keen inductive sense. This ability comes from their heads. Through current, they can feel the existence of creatures. Even in an environment that is contaminated or other influences, sharks can still lock prey accurately through inductance. Shark also played a pivotal role in maintaining marine ecology. The following points have the following points:
· Shark is both a high -end predator and a marine Qing Daofu. They can eliminate the slow individuals of the disease and movement of the fish, and achieve the survival of the fittest.
· Sharks sometimes consume the corpse sinking into the bottom of the sea, and this will also reduce the number of bacteria in the marine ecosystem.
· Shark can maintain the number of floats in the area by prey for fish. In some coral reefs, the existence of sharks can constitute a local food chain, namely the checks and balances between algae, plankton, fish groups, and sharks. This is directly related to the growth of coral reefs.
· The nitrogen -rich feces left by sharks in migration will provide nutrients in different regions.
The threat facing sharks
Every year, 100 million sharks are killed. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has listed more than one -third of shark species as "endangered" species. At present, the threat to sharks mainly comes from the following aspects:
· Due to the large demand for the soup and shark medals, sharks have been over -caught.
· Climate change is also one of the threats. Once a large amount of greenhouse gases produced by a large amount of burning fossil fuel are dissolved in the seawater, which causes seawater to acidify, which will cause less fish activities. Therefore, sharks' food sources will also decrease. Sharks have the habit of swimming by warm water, and the warming of seawater will expand their activity range and expose to the sight of fishing boats. At the same time, seawater warming caused coral reef bleaching to cause sharks to lose habitats and food sources, and sharks were forced to increase activities and risk arrest risks.
How to protect sharks
The development of shark protection is urgent, and specific protection measures are divided into national and personal levels.
· At the national level, related marine protection areas are established under the guidance of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea to protect endangered shark people and other marine creatures.
· At the personal level, we need to understand the shark knowledge, support the protection of sharks and the relevant laws that prohibit shark fins, and at the same time, the body refuses to refuse products related to sharks.
For a long time, China Green Fair has attached great importance to the protection of marine ecological environment and the protection of sharks, and has carried out many tasks around this theme. Green Association has made practical efforts to promote the protection of marine protection, participate in relevant meetings, and make actual efforts to protect the protection of marine life. June 8th is the World Oceanic Day. While calling on everyone to protect the ecological environment of the marine, the Green Association is closely preparing to participate in the UN Oceanic Conference. June 26 is the "International Angel Shark Day", which should be called by the United Nations Convention on Protecting Wildlife Migration Species (CMS Convention). The Green Club collects information for the biological characteristics of the popular science angel shark, and encourages everyone to participate in the related actions to protect the angel shark.
On the day of the Shark Protection Day in 2021, the Green Society's RCEP working group held the theme: "Talking about the ecological value of sharks and protection measures in Shark Day", and invited experts from domestic and foreign experts to discuss them together.
This year, Green Club is highly concerned about the UN Oceanic Conference held in Lisbon, Portugal from June 27th to July 1st this year. The Green Association actively participated in the stakeholders' meeting. On the evening of June 30, 2022, the Green Club held the 2022 UN Oceanic Conference. At the side, representatives of different countries gathered together to explore themes of marine life diversity protection and sustainable development, biological friendly clean energy and marine education. The theme of this side meeting is the United Nations Oceanic Conference on the United Nations Oceanic Conference with "coordinated and efficient development between marine life diversity and sustainable development -promoting sustainable development goals 4, 7, 13, 14, and 15". The Green Association invited Andrea Richey, an administrative director of the Hong Kong Shark Protection Association. She pointed out: Without these consumption behaviors, there will be no killing or harm. Why is shark very important? Shark helps to balance other animals in the marine food network; shark itself is an effective carbon exchange that can reduce carbon dioxide released to the atmosphere; protecting sharks, in fact reducing carbon emissions and weakening climate change. Today, we humans need sharks. I want to say today that this is a problem in the world. What can we do now? Each of us can make a difference. We can promise to say no to all shark fin products. Whether it is entertaining your family, friends or anyone else, we must say no to shark products. We have to take action.
After the United Nations Oceanic Conference, the Green Association sorted out the draft of the conference declaration to promote the spirit of the draft of our ocean, our future, and our responsibility. Contributing to China's in -depth participation in global maritime governance.
