According to the "Articles of Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences", "Implementation Rules for the Election Work of Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences", and "Measures for the Election Measures for Foreign Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences", in 2021, the Chinese Academy of Sciences elected 65 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and 5 female scientists were elected. The average age of the newly elected academicians is 57.4 years, the youngest age is 45 years, the largest age is 68 years, and 76.9%of the 60 -year -old (inclusive). Among them, there are 12 people of the Department of Mathematics and Physics, 11 of the Department of Chemistry, 10 Ministry of Life Science and Medicine, 9 of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, 10 of the Ministry of Information Technology, and 13 of the Ministry of Technology Science. Through special recommendation review mechanisms, 5 people are elected in the field of national defense and national security, 3 people are elected in emerging and cross -disciplinary fields, and the academician team structure has been further optimized.
