On July 7, the Symposium on the Traditional Medical Standardization Experts of BRICS National Medicine was held online and offline. More than 30 people including China, Russia, India, South Africa and other BRICS countries, and more than 30 experts and scholars in the field of traditional pharmaceuticals attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Shen Yuandong, chairman of the International Standardized Organization of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Committee (ISO/TC249), shared the contents of the international standardization path and development method of traditional medicine, providing ideas for the BRICS participation in international standardization of Chinese medicine. Experts and representatives of BRICS countries have exchanged the current status and development experience of the traditional medical standardization of their country, and discussed how to better play the role of standardization between the bridge between the traditional and modern quality requirements of the medical development. The meeting put forward the proposal proposals of Chinese medicinal materials such as Wen Tulip and Zhejiang Fritillaria, and the experts participating in the conference fully exchanged and reached consensus on the training of standardized workers in the traditional pharmaceutical field and the cultivation of medicinal materials.

This conference is one of the series of standardization and cooperation and cooperation activities of the BRICS countries in 2022, and a supporting meeting of the Minister of Standardization Cooperation of BRICS countries. It aims to use China as an opportunity to serve as the chairman of the BRICS value. Exchange and dialogue, seek more extensive cooperation consensus, contribute to the cooperation of BRICS countries and promote the construction of a traditional standardized system for traditional pharmaceuticals.
