In 2020, Shenzhen opened 6 new subway lines and 107 kilometers of subway lines in one year. As the new line was put into the initial operation, Shenzhen's urban rail transit radius further expanded.
As of the end of 2021, the operating mileage of Shenzhen's urban rail transit line network reached 419 kilometers. Compared with the total mileage and 130 stations at the end of 2011, in 10 years, the total length of the Shenzhen Metro has extended 241 kilometers, and the subway station increased by 158. International standards will be opened to traffic by 400 kilometers as the entry threshold for the world -class subway cities. According to this indicator, Shenzhen has now ranked among the world -class subway cities.

With the extension of the subway line, many of the lives of Shenzhen citizens have been changed. At present, Shenzhen Metro passenger flow ranks fourth in the country, and its passenger flow intensity and commuting convenience ranks first in the country. As of the end of 2021, the average daily passenger intensity of the Shenzhen Metro Line Network reached 14,500/kilometer, ranking first in the country; urban rail transit passenger transport accounted for more than 60%of the city's public transport passenger transport volume. The role is further prominent.
From Metro Tongcheng to Connecting Bay Area
What is even more exciting is that this year, Shenzhen will once again usher in the construction of subway construction and opening the "big year". By the end of this year, the operating mileage of Shenzhen Metro will exceed 500 kilometers in one fell swoop, and the happiness of Shenzhen citizens will continue to increase with the extension of the subway line.
It is understood that at present, there are 16 rail transit lines under construction in Shenzhen, with a total mileage of about 227 kilometers. Since the beginning of this year, the 453 subway workers under the jurisdiction of Shenzhen Metro Group have been under construction, and more than 50,000 builders have accelerated the construction of the subway.
According to the plan, at the end of this year, Shenzhen will have 4 new lines of Metro Line 12, Line 14, Line 16 and Line 6. At present, the four new lines have been completed, and the auxiliary projects of various stations have entered the final sprint stage, steadily moving towards the traffic target.
It is worth mentioning that the terminals of these new subway lines are approaching the junction of Shenzhen Wanhui. There are plans that continue to extend to Dongguan and Huizhou.
