Canada may release the "Beixi-1" component to Germany

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, July 9th, the German government spokesman confirmed on the 8th that Germany hoped that the "Beixi-1" natural gas pipeline component sent by the German Siemens company in Canada has been "positive" by the Canadian side.

According to Bloomberg News, the spokesman could not confirm whether the part had "settled".

People familiar with the matter said that due to Canada's sanctions on Russia, the components sent by Siemens will be sent back to Germany first, and then submitted to Russia's Natural Gas Industry Co., Ltd. (Russia).

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov confirmed at a press conference on the 8th that if Siemens's components resume operation, the "Beixi-1" gas transmission volume will increase. "The only problem is why this incident has not been resolved immediately."

Siemens has not responded yet.

The "Beixi-1" natural gas pipeline starts from Russia's Vebon in the east, leading to Germany via the Baltic sea. In mid-June, Russia said that Russia was forced to reduce the "Beixi-1" gas transmission because Siemens had not delivered the gas compression unit that was delivered to Russia in time. According to Siemens, parts were sent to Montreal Vivian, Canada, but could not be returned due to Canada's sanctions on Russia.

The German side had previously negotiated with the Canadian and the European Union Commission. Robert Habeck, the Deputy Prime Minister of Germany and the Minister of Economic and Climate Protection, called on Canada to return the components of Siemens to repairs, and evaded Canada's "change methods" on Russia, that is, to Germany, not Russia.
