The Ministry of Ecology and Environment notified today (July 9) the national ecological environment quality status from January to June 2022, and the national ecological environment quality continued to improve in the first half of the year.

In terms of environmental air conditions, the nation's air quality improved in the first half of this year. The proportion of excellent days in the prefecture -level and above cities reached 84.6%, a year -on -year increase of 0.3 percentage points; the PM2.5 concentration was 32 micrograms/cubic meter, a year -on -year decrease of 5.9%. The proportion of excellent days in Beijing -Tianjin -Hebei and surrounding areas increased by 1.3 percentage points year -on -year, and PM2.5 concentration decreased by 4.1%year -on -year. However, the national prefecture -level and above cities O3 concentration of 144 micrograms/cubic meters, an increase of 4.3%year -on -year; the proportion of excellent days in the Yangtze River Delta region and Fenwei Plain decreased by 5.4 percentage points and 5.1 percentage points year -on -year, respectively. %And 4.3%.

In terms of water ecological environment, in the first half of this year, the quality of the water environment across the country continued to improve. The proportion of the water quality section of the ground water Ⅰ -Ⅲ was 85.7%, an increase of 4.0 percentage points year -on -year; the proportion of inferior water quality sections was 1.1%, a year -on -year decrease of 0.8 percentage points. The proportion of the water quality section of the key basin I -III was 87.3%, an increase of 3.8 percentage points year -on -year; the proportion of inferior water quality sections was 0.8%, a year -on -year decrease of 1.0 percentage points. Among them, the proportion of water quality sections of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River Basin is 97.0%and 82.4%, respectively, an increase of 2.0 percentage points and 5.8 percentage points year -on -year. The cross section of the V of V was 3.4%, a year -on -year decrease of 2.3 percentage points.
