When the child is reported to be a professional, what kind of guidance should parents give?

After the college entrance examination scores have been announced one after another, many parents are busy inquiring about the universities and majors of the admission to the children? Nowadays, in the face of a sharp number of universities and increasingly detailed majors, this is a bit confusing for the parents of children who graduated from the 1990s and the grandparents of the children who graduated earlier. Unless the child has a clear university and professional orientation, parents really have to rely on their own vision to help children determine this key step in life. It is said that it is obviously possible to guide students to apply for college and majors. In the current middle and college entrance examination system, this is obviously possible.

Which level of universities apply for candidates are basically determined by candidates' test scores; which major applying for the exam basically depends on their interest. But what makes parents blame is that some children's professional interests are not so obvious, and it seems that they can learn anything. This seems a little troublesome. In addition, I also found that the professional catalogs of the university today also found that today's majors are too thin. For example, in the past, the most common Chinese majors, in addition to being divided into two types: language and literature, there are also ancient literature majors, drama literature majors, and so on. In the past, we only knew architecture, and now we have garden design, landscape design, urban and rural planning, urban design and other majors. It is said that there are currently more than 700 majors in the undergraduate majors, and many of them have been added every few years. How should these majors guide children to choose? A colleague's child asked me for opinions after the college entrance examination this year. I gave me two opinions. One was to discover and respect the child's interest.

Interest is to learn eternal motivation. Some parents plan to help their children make money for their children's livelihoods, so they forced children who are not feeling for numbers and operations to apply for the School of Finance and Economics. Children study architecture -related majors so that they can inherit their father's business. All these practices are utilitarian choices, and the utilitarian approach can only be beneficial to a temporary matter. It is undoubtedly a misunderstanding for the child's lifelong career choice. Fundamentally, each child is a unique "one", which has their unique interests that are different from others. Parents have the responsibility to discover and guide their children to perform their own strengths. What's more, there are already many related test questions at present. If you do not find the child's interest, parents may wish to use these auxiliary methods.

Tao and technique are a pair of traditional cultural terms. The Tao is the root of the trees and the branches of the tree; The author always believes that in the context of increasing professionalism today, some majors belong to the scope of surgery. Take an example that everyone knows, such as excavators repair. This is of course the major of technical schools. This major is also admirable technology, but this is a specialty of "surgery". The specialty related to this professional "Dao" should be physics, engineering or metallurgical. To give this example, there is no degradation of excavation and repairing majors, but just wants parents to understand that instructing children to apply for college majors should choose those "Tao" majors. After learning physics, you understand the distribution and composition of strength; after learning metallurgical, you understand the function and smelting methods of metal. These are the "books" and "roots" of repairing excavators.

Mencius once said that "the art is not careless", which is equivalent to today's majors and occupations. Children are admitted to college to choose a major, and of course they must not be careless.
