My name is Qiu Huaide. I am 29 years old. I am a doctor of rehabilitation medicine and physiotherapy at Nanjing Medical University. It is also a rare patient with "juvenile Parkinson disease". Speaking of which, half of my life was sick. From the age of 14, I was walking and dragging. After that, I often trembled, my whole body was weak. I was paralyzed on the bed in the worst. I could n’t even take care of myself ...
After seeking medical treatment again and again, I made up my mind to study medicine and want to figure out what disease I have. To this end, I gave up the university I have been admitted to the admission, and I was admitted to Nanjing Medical University for one year. It took 11 years to study from undergraduate to a PhD.
After studying medicine, I finally had a chance to clarify the diagnosis and find a reasonable treatment method to control the condition. From the beginning, I could only walk around, and then I could run 5 kilometers in one breath. The whole person changed.
This is a graduation ceremony this year, and I took a graduation photo at Nanjing Medical University.
In 1993, I was born in a rural family in Zhangzhou, Fujian. During my childhood, I had a very happy family. When my dad was young, he entered. He became the first boiler technician in the town. Later, he changed his studies and opened a winery with my mother. The two of them brewed, one giving wine, and the life was hot.
Unfortunately, this time only continued until I was six years old. Because my mother went out to send alcohol and drinking, she began to spread her words on the street. After these words were passed into my dad's ears, the two of them made a lot of trouble, torn their marriage certificate, and shouted to divorce. My mother ran away from home with a madness. As soon as her front foot left, my dad picked up the sledgehammer and smashed the winery.
Since then, our family has returned to liberation overnight and has become a poor households from Xiaokang. Because of poor, my sister and I have not wore new clothes for many years. The plastic sandals are broken and sticky, and the pants pocket will walk with your hands. The neighbors were pitifully us, and the old clothes were always given to our sisters.
Once the principal of the primary school came to visit home, I saw that the brightness of my family's light bulbs was too low, and the words in the house were so dark that I couldn't see it clearly. The principal told my dad: "A energy -saving light bulb can't be a few dollars. How does this light make children learn? You can't get bitter!" My dad remembered to change a brighter bulb.
When I was a kid, my sister and I were a few photos.
After my mother left, there was basically no news. Once my dad went to the neighboring county to deliver a traffic accident. After being detained for half a month, there were two of me and my sister left at home. Relatives feel that two children are too difficult and try to contact my mother. My mother took her boyfriend back to the home and made a ball soup for us, left two hundred dollars, and left the same day. I felt nothing at that time, and then I thought it was cruel.
However, the cruelty of fate to me is not there. After entering high school in 2007, I often felt that I had no strength to walk with my right foot, stiff my left foot, dragged my steps, and my shoulders were significantly high and low. Due to the poor family, my dad didn't take me to the hospital, but I went to the small clinic to see the disease. At that time, I didn't find any problems. After that, the situation of my walking was getting worse.
By the third year of high school, my hand began to tremble unconsciously, and the teacher suggested that I go to the city's large hospital to see. My dad was busy delivery during the day, and I had to take a car alone to see a doctor in the city. The doctor asked me to lift my hands with both hands, and put a piece of white paper in my hand. As soon as my hand was lifted, I shook it, and the paper followed.
The doctor believed that I had insufficient brain blood supply and prescribed a bunch of medicine. The staff of the pharmacy handed a plastic bag for me to put the medicine by myself. I held the bag in one hand and the other hand was stuffed with the other hand, only to find that my hands could not even put the medicine.
The photos on my membership certificate were dark and thin during middle school.
In the year of high school, I almost traveled to the major hospitals in the city, but no doctor could tell me what disease was, and no one could provide effective treatment. Since then, I have been determined to take the medical school.
Because my hands were shaking, I could only take a leave of home. My dad found me some folk remedies to cook medicine. After taking it for a while, my hands trembled clearly relieved, but I could still see that there was a problem. Maybe my dad felt that this was not a serious illness, or maybe because he was near the college entrance examination, he asked me to return to school quickly.
At this time, I obviously felt that my physical strength was deteriorating. I felt tired after sitting in the classroom, and my hands were shaking and writing. In order to get more points, I usually do composition and big questions when I get the test paper. In the 2010 college entrance examination, this is how I took the exam. Although the score exceeded a line, it was not enough to apply for the medical school.
Thinking about it, I decided to repeat it again. That summer vacation, the county league committee sent a subsidy for school assistance from poor students to college. I told them that I was going to repeat it, and this money should be left to those who need it more.
In the year of the re -reading, I had to stop and rest by walking far away, and I could only support the wall. I couldn't sit still during class. I always felt tired, and finally supported the college entrance examination in the second year. Fortunately, this time I scored 645 points and 72 points for one line. It was successfully admitted by Nanjing Medical University Clinical Medicine.
In 2011, I became a medical student, which was taken by her roommates shortly after entering the school.
It is not the end to be admitted to college. The symptoms on my body are still there, and life is not easy. Once I was studying last night, the counselor Zhu Susu saw that I was holding the wall from the corridor all the way and asked me what happened. I said that I couldn't walk on my feet. It has been so many years. Teacher Zhu felt that I couldn't hold it like this, so I gave me a call from a orthopedic doctor and asked me to ask, and the orthopedic doctor suggested that I go to see the neurology department. In the semester, with the help of Teacher Zhu, I lived in the Department of Neurology, Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital. The doctor's diagnosis was spasm paraplegia, but I did not give the corresponding treatment. My illness was still worse. There is no one who can rely on. I am always helpless. When I feel a negative emotions, I think: "I have a strange disease, I can't find the cause, and I can't cure it. I will become more and more serious in the future. In this life What to do ... "The counselor couldn't get my phone call. I was anxious, for fear that I couldn't find a short opinion.
Later, Mr. Zhu deliberately arranged a classmate to take care of me. The classmate also surnamed Zhu, named Zhu Chenggang, and I usually called him Lao Zhu. Lao Zhu is from Anhui. In his thirties, he has made a career in Beijing. Because he was interested in medicine, he also entered the South Medical Medicine through the second college entrance examination and became a classmate with me.
During that time, Lao Zhu had been with me to go to the hospital and asked the doctor how to treat the next step, what would happen in the future, how to refer it, and what examinations needed later. He always told me that there is hope.
For the first time in 2012, I played with the Rubik's Cube to be hospitalized.
However, this time the hospital was still not able to find out the cause, and my hand still trembled, so that many experiments could not operate. Once I accidentally heard others discuss me privately- "If you do experimental hand trembling, you may not even pass the qualification test of a practicing physician. No hospital will have a doctor who is trembling." With the idea of transferring professionalism.
If you can't pass the practice physician exam, then I really might as well change a professional earlier, such as computers and the like, so that at least the keyboard can be operated. At that moment, I had the idea of dropping out of school.
Lao Zhu advised me not to give up, and told me that if you are studying medicine, many of my resources in the professional field can still be used. Once you leave the medical profession, I am afraid that there will be fewer opportunities to cure the disease ... Lao Zhu's words It has a certain impact on me, but it was my dad who decided to decide in the end. He called me and said that if he dropped out of school, he broke the relationship with my father and son. So I did not drop out of school.
In the second semester of my sophomore year, I was completely inseparable from a crutch. In addition to walking very slowly, the spine began to tilt, the left body became more and more stiff, and the left shoulder will be sour for a long time. Each time you walk to the classroom, you have to rest for more than ten minutes to start learning. My daily life is seriously affected, the movement is unfavorable, and the sense of balance is not good. Wearing pants will trip, you have to wear it against the wall.
While studying the doctor while studying, I ran through the outpatient clinics of major hospitals in Nanjing. I haven't found out what disease it is. At the same time, the condition has become more and more serious. By April 2015, I could hardly go. I could only ask the school teacher to move to a dormitory building closest to the classroom. This building and the classroom are only two hundred meters across two aisles and one basketball court, and the distance between the turning turning is about 200 meters, but I still have to stop halfway to rest for a while before I can go.
The dormitory building moved at that time was already closest to the classroom, and it was still very difficult for me.
One night I went to the classroom to study on my own. After walking to the basketball court, I felt that I had no strength to go forward, and I sat on the ground and wrote a small poem. After writing, the eyes are also wet. I wiped my tears, and I got up and walked the road halfway again. That night, I told myself that I still had to go to see the doctor, and I couldn't give up like that.
A small poem written that night.
On April 27, 2015, I first came to the Rehabilitation Department of the People's Hospital of Jiangsu Province to see a doctor. Dr. Jian'an helped me prescribe a medicine called Midaba. direction.
When I went to the hospital, I took the bus myself, and I was not able to walk on the way back. Fortunately, Lao Zhu came to help. He asked me to walk on his shoulder. As a result, he couldn't move after a few steps. An uncle Clean also ran over and raised my shoulder. I didn't take a few steps. No, the two legs were softly pulled on the ground.
In the end, Uncle Clean had to carry me into the dormitory building. At that moment, my tears flowed down, thinking that I might never go anymore in the future ... When I returned to the dormitory, I could only lie down and walk out of bed. I even started thinking about it. Buy a wheelchair.
Unexpectedly, on the third day after taking the medicine, I was rejuvenating again, and I could walk with a crutch. This is simply a dramatic change. In just a few days, I did n’t play from bed in bed to walk around.
About a month later, I had obvious effects fluctuations, and I couldn't move when there was no effect. I know that this cannot be thought about it by myself, and I have to consult the doctor again. At that time, I was in the senior year at the Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital. I would go to the neurology department after work. Under the advice of neurologists, I started to use receptor agonists. After eating, the whole person can be better.
I practiced in the dormitory building without turning around, and my back was soaked by sweat.
During that time, I read a lot of clinical documents for exercise disorders, and also sent emails to many domestic and international scholars to consult and treat information. Slowly, I deepened my cognition about my illness, and determined to do genetic testing, and I must understand the cause. In June 2015, I did genetic testing with the help of Dr. Wu of Zhejiang Medical Medicine Second Hospital. The doctor was contacted by email. However, genetic testing is not in one step. At first, only one genetic disease was detected. The result was negative, indicating that it was not matched.
I did not give up because of this. At the advice of Doctor Dr. Rehabilitation, I started trying to do some cardiopulmonary function rehabilitation and muscle strength training. I plan to improve physical fitness and improve activity ability through exercise.
This is the sports equipment in the hospital rehabilitation department. I started rehabilitation training from here.
Under the dual action of drugs and exercise, my symptoms have improved significantly. In order to increase my physical fitness, I turned my attention from the rehabilitation treatment room to the gym I had never been to.
When I came to the gym for the first time, I walked in slowly with a cane. At that time, I didn't know if I could do it. The elder brothers and uncle exercised in the gym saw me with a crutch, and all came around to encourage me. "Lady, the body is so weak, you have to work hard." An uncle is the Jiangsu Province bodybuilding champion, In his sixties, he was still full of muscles, and he gave me great confidence.
I go to the gym every day and practice under the guidance of fitness coaches. After a few months, the bench presses have been able to do 60kg, the drawing can be a dozen of breath, and the weight has grown from 52kg to 59kg. Arms and legs have obvious strength. But I still didn't dare to throw away the crutch, and I couldn't come back when I was afraid of going out.
Until one time I was kicking my legs, the weight was added to 70kg. The Jianyou next to me told me, "The guy, all of them, do so heavy weight, what do you want to do?" I slowly tried to leave the crutch.
In the winter of 2015, I trained in the school gym has already trained a muscle.
In the spring of 2016, Zhejiang Medical Second Hospital once again contacted me, which brought good news this time. It turned out that Dr. Wu conducted a genetic test of Parkinson's disease again, and finally obtained the diagnosis of "Juvenile Parkinson disease". Unfortunately, I did n’t know later. The second hospital of Zhejiang Medical made me several times. I thought it was a fraud phone call.
That day, with the test results, I was relieved. After five years of medical treatment, I finally got the diagnosis in the last year of college.
For so many years, it turned out to be Parkinson's disease. Although it could not be completely cured, at least there were medicines for medicine, and there were many ways to improve the quality of life.
On April 1, 2016, I was on the West Lake. At this time, I had been out of the crutch and put on a Pose at the street light.
It was also this year, and I chose to stay at the Nanda Medical University to continue to study the master's degree in rehabilitation medicine and physiotherapy. Professor Li Jianan of the Provincial People's Hospital became my teacher. I am both his patient and his student. Later, some media reported my experience. I said on the Internet that I was a "anti -Papa hero", and some patients found me through various channels, and asked me to ask the treatment. Everyone thought I was completely "good".
In fact, I did not fully recover. I just improved the symptoms through exercise and drug coordination, so that the disease developed slowly. Parkinson's disease cannot be cured. Fortunately, it can be kept through reasonable treatment and good mentality. As long as it is done, each patient may enjoy higher quality of life.
In 2016, accompanied by English teacher Shirley to travel to Guangzhou, I went to Baiyun Mountain to try bungee jumping.
I often say that I have taken a lot slower than others. I have been able to enter the medical school for 4 years. I have been able to enter the medical school. After 5 years of undergraduate medical college, I have clearly explicit. I have been studying for 6 years. To. The reason why I study, on the one hand, I want to get along with the disease better before work, and on the other hand, I help others through my own learning.
In 2017, I passed the written test and operation test of the practicing physician and got the qualification certificate of a practicing physician. Recalling the concerns of being able to get a physician qualification certificate many years ago, it was another mood.
In the second year of getting the certificate, I founded my own public account and often did some disease science popularization and health mission. At the same time, the Payou exchange group was also created, and the online and offline have given to the patients to give a preaching answer.
I conducted offline education at the Rehabilitation Hospital, and the dual identities of doctors and patients attracted many audiences.
In the first half of 2019, I completed all the requirements of clinical training and studies, and successfully obtained a master's graduation certificate and degree certificate. In September of the same year, I began to study for a doctorate.
During my reading, I continued to fight against Parkinson's illness. The daily symptoms and the prognosis of going downhill was enough to cause any person with strong will into depression. Although I did not perform a problem in front of people, the effect of shaking, standing unstable, and unwillingness when the effect was over.
This is my handwriting in the same period. There is no effect on it. The following is effective. It can be seen that the symptoms fluctuate is obvious.
In April 2021, I recorded a program about Parkinson's disease in the CCTV's "Lifeline" column. The video time was only about two minutes, and I almost filmed for almost a whole day. Because of the short effect time, I often interrupted it, and I had to stop and rest for them to continue shooting. CCTV's teacher learned about the difficulties of the shooting process, and woke me in a word, "Why not perform surgery? You deserve a better life." I suddenly realized, right, why not? I didn't do it because I had no money before. I didn't want to bother everyone. I once refused to make suggestions for crowdfunding proposed by friends.
In the past few years, I have also had some savings. After I wanted to understand, I immediately started to consult with patients, doctors and equipment vendors. Under the introduction of the patient, I contacted Director Ma Yu of Yuquan Hospital of Tsinghua University. In May last year, Director Ma arranged me to go to Beijing for various inspections. In mid -July of the same year, with her help, I underwent DBS (brain deep electrical stimulation) surgery.
This is a kind of brain surgery, which must be inserted into the brain, and then placed the pulse generator in the chest to continuously stimulate the intracranial nuclear group to adjust the physical condition. After surgery, no exposure device can be seen from the outside.
The doctor installed the head frame for me before the operation. This process was a bit painful.
On the day of the operation, the scalp, drilling, and implanted electrodes should be opened in turn. Because the brain tissue does not feel, the operation after drilling is painless. However, I was very nervous at the time, especially when the dynamic veins (needle) and drilling were established before surgery.
When I was nervous, I was a number of lights. I know that there are two shadow lights on the operating table, 6 light bulbs on the left, and 5 on the right. When drilling, I told myself, just obey, don't resist, I fell asleep after a while.
After surgery for 6 hours after surgery, the doctor tried to turn on the equipment. As soon as the stimulator was turned on, my limbs had obvious changes, and my lower limbs could not be relaxed, and they were swinging around without controlling. Ordinary patients may have to doubt the doctor at this time. I am studying medicine. I know that this is not a problem with the quality of surgery. It may just be that the parameters are not adapted. Generally, it takes 3-6 months to adjust the parameters to control the control well. Essence One week after the operation, the doctor helped me adjust the parameters twice, and it was not better until it was about to be discharged.
At that time, I joked that when I came to the hospital, I was an individual, and I became a "robot" after I was discharged. The equipment implanted in my body must be charged on time every week to prevent the battery from excessive discharge, which is a bit like a mobile phone wireless charging. I will first insert a dedicated sensor board with a charging treasure to close the sensor implanted in the chest near the chest, and you can slowly charge the equipment in the body.
Device parameters can also be adjusted, but doctors are generally adjusted. After two remote regulation, I feel that the effect is much better, and I have improved significantly in speaking, doing things, and walking.
Doctors are giving me parameters, and constantly regulating can make the surgical effect to the extreme.
I am very lucky than most Parkinson patients. After 15 years of illness, from misdiagnosis to confirmation during the period, I have experienced drugs, surgery and rehabilitation training. My symptoms are relatively well controlled. And I found that even if it is more difficult than normal people, I can catch up with my friends after hard training.
Life does send me a bad card, so what? Shakespeare said, "Wise people will never sit down for failed, they must be optimistic to find methods to save."
In the past ten years, I have experienced too much unsatisfactory. At a young age, I have suffered from Parkinson's disease, showing their words and deeds. I broke my mobile phone screen several times, overturned countless water cups, experienced the sense of weakness of walking, and had many nights that could not sleep. Maybe I feel that it was too difficult to be in the past, and many memories were unclear. I can't remember it well, and people always look forward.
I never dare to hold myself with the title of "inspirational" and "model". At best, it is an ordinary struggler. I didn't feel any great contribution. On the occasion of leaving the ivory tower, there are regrets and longing. Unfortunately, they have not become a doctors who are independent, nor have they have the strength of excellent researchers. Light others in work, be a Wounded Healer (who can heal others), and a person who is responsible and stands up.
