Most people have experienced a feeling of being hungry, and even a word can be described as "hungry". Now, the first study that evaluates the phenomenon in the real world has found that there is indeed a connection between appetite and emotions.

Most of the previous studies about hunger and anger were completed in the laboratory, but the SWAMI team wanted to know how strong this impact is in people's daily life.

In order to find the answer, 64 people from Germany, Austria and other countries used mobile phone applications to fill in some brief surveys, including their emotions and hunger in 5 times a day within 3 weeks.

Sure enough, there is a correlation between people's hunger and the irritability and anger of self -reporting. When they are hungry, they can't feel too happy.

This impact is very strong, such as hunger is related to 56%of the irritability.

"When you feel hungry, you are more likely to understand the (potential) negative context as negative." Swami said that such a hint may include being hit by people who feel hot or crowded.
