On July 3, 2022, with the slowly rising and decentralized crane hooks, the Light Rail extension of the Hengqin Line Project on the Macau Light Rail Establishment Well was extended. The Macau light rail extension Hengqin line project is the first submarine shield tunnel construction project in Macau. It is also an important supporting project for Guangzhu Intercity and Macau light rail transfer. It is also an important passenger channel for Macau in the Mainland and the Pearl River Delta. It is of great significance to connect the infrastructure of the Bay Area, close cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, and build the Guangdong -Hong Kong -Macao economic cooperation platform. The project is about 2.2 kilometers in length, of which the construction section of the shield tunnel is about 900 meters, the shield machine is 87 meters long, the total weight is about 600 tons, and the diameter of the shield machine excavation is 8 meters.
The project was built on behalf of the Nanguang Group, and China Railway Construction China Civil Engineering, China Railway 16th Bureau, China Railway Construction and Railway Fourth Court participated in construction. Since the start of the construction, the project team has overcome the adverse effects of venue demolition, small venue, and epidemic situation.
