On June 29, under the coordination of the EU representatives, the representatives of Iran and the United States conducted indirect negotiations in the capital of Qatar, trying to save the Iran nuclear agreement negotiation that had been interrupted for nearly 3 months.
In this regard, the chief consultant represented by the Iranian nuclear talk and Vice President of Tehran University, Malandi, said in an exclusive interview with Phoenix Satellite TV that the negotiations could not reach the results in a short time, and multiple rounds of talks were needed. The result depends on the United States.
Professor Malandi:
I think the negotiations can be carried out in any way, and the time may last for several months.
Phoenix Satellite TV reporter:
So what is the significance of this talk?
Professor Malandi:
Because they have passed the information densely back and forth for a while, indirect talks may allow them to find a solution, but the real problem is that the United States must make its own decision.
Professor Malandi believes that the Russian and Uchia crisis and the global oil crisis are important reasons for the West to restart negotiations.
Phoenix Satellite TV reporter:
So in your opinion, what is the reason why it is so quickly restored in Doha?
Professor Malandi:
Since the Ukrainian war, it has brought difficulties in the international community, especially Europe, especially in Europe. Europeans are very eager to reach an agreement, so their pressure will be much larger than before.
Professor Malandi believes that the negotiations are important, Iran is optimistic, but it is also realistic.
Phoenix Satellite TV reporter:
What do you think of the negotiation results?
Professor Malandi:
I can't say whether it will reach an agreement now. When we were talking, they were negotiating carefully. I think it may take some time to make all the situation clear, so we are optimistic, but it is also realistic. There are many problems in Americans in China, and Biden is not popular, so it is difficult for Biden to make decisions, so Iranians will wait and see.
Professor Malandi said that Iran has never set up the time limit for negotiations and will not accept pressure and threats from the United States and the West. Iran has the upper hand in negotiations, because the West is more anxious to reach an agreement.
Professor Malandi:
We don't know what the White House will do, but the pressure is accumulated in the White House. The progress of the Russian and Ukraine did not go well for Western countries. They were very keen to reach an agreement because their situation was not good. The more Western countries delay the implementation of the nuclear agreement, the worse for themselves, so Iranians are waiting for the pressure to have positive results, or whether they need to wait longer to get positive results.
