According to the Russian News Agency, the announcement said that the maintenance involves testing mechanical components and automation systems to ensure the reliable, safe and efficient operation of natural gas pipelines. This annual maintenance work has been planned in advance, and the time arrangement has been negotiated with upstream and downstream partners.

Analysts pointed out that "Beixi-1" is currently Russia's major gas pipeline against Europe, which will increase the shortage of natural gas in the European market.

Russian natural gas market expert Ji Yiwan Mona said that due to the temporary closure of the news, the gas supply of natural gas pipelines in "Beixi-1" in July may drop to 1.3 billion cubic meters, a decrease of nearly 60%compared with June.
