This year is the 21st year when Wang Zhongmei holds a welding torch. 16 tons of welding wire witnessed her from growing from the welding engineering apprentice to a "welding general".

In 2001, after graduating from the former Wuhan Railway Bridge Senior Technical School, Wang Zhongmei took over the welding gun in his father's hands and became a welder. Use nearly 25 kg welded wires every day. In the summer, it works continuously in a closed steel box beam with a temperature of more than 50 ° C. The clothes are wet, dry, wet and wet ... The pass rate reaches 99%. Representatives and supervisors of the factory call her "exemption king". In 2007, she grew up from a novice to a skilled technician, and also gloriously became a Communist member.

In the world's first public railway two -purpose cable bridge -the new steel species of the Shanghai -Soviet Tong Yangtze River Bridge, Wang Zhongmei participated in the factory test and overcome the difficulty of welding technology used on the steel bridge for the first time. The welding problem of large -scale full -welded joints of 1800 tons has made important contributions to promoting the three major leaps of the new steel species of railway bridges in my country.

Wang Zhongmei called Wuhan "the second hometown." She was born in Hubei, studied in Wuhan, and often worked on a bridge in Wuhan. Key projects such as Tianxingzhou Yangtze River Bridge, Yangsi Port Yangtze River Bridge, and Qingshan Yangtze River Bridge have left her struggle.

In 2008, Wang Zhongmei went to Wuhan to participate in the construction of the Yangtze River Bridge of Tianxingzhou. Climbing up the tall scaffolding, under her feet, the rivers, and she had to welding her head. She would always habitually look at the safety rope. "I'm not afraid to be false, I remind myself not to look at the feet and weld at ease."

When Wang Zhongmei first entered the company, there were seven or eight female welders in the same group as her. Later, the female welders moved to career, and some people persuaded her to transfer. Her master sighed after knowing: "If you change careers, it's a pity that your good craftsmanship." This sentence of the master changed Wang Zhongmei to change his mind. Because of her love, she decided to take root in the field of welding, and took the banner of the "Women's Welding Commando" from the master's hands to carry forward the profession of women's welders.

In 2021, Wang Zhongmei was rated as a national outstanding Communist Party member. Under her leadership, her team successfully completed the construction of key projects such as the Bay Bay Bridge, the Shanghai -Soviet Tong Yangtze River Bridge, and the Nanjing Da Shengguan Yangtze River Bridge, and won a number of "Luban Awards".
