At the ceremony of fully investing in the commercial operation announcement, the Pakistan Private Electric Power and Infrastructure Commission, Monavar Ikbar, said that the Three Gorges Group overcame the impact of the new crown epidemic and successfully achieved the goal of the Carlot Hydropower Station in full production and operation. Pakistan brings urgently need clean energy. The Three Gorges Group also actively implements corporate social responsibility and helps the sustainable development of the local community. Ikbar said that the Pakistani government will continue to implement the Sino -Pakistan Economic Corridor's energy cooperation goals and promote the co -construction of the "Belt and Road" cooperation.

Wu Shengliang, chairman of the Three Gorges International Energy Investment Group Co., Ltd., said in a speech that the Carlo Hydropower Station is the priority of the China -Pakistan Economic Corridor to implement the energy cooperation project and the "Belt and Road" key projects, symbolizing the hardcore friendship between China and Pakistan. It is another fruitful result of the energy construction of the China -Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Wu Shengliang said that the Carlo Hydropower Station will provide Pakistan with a cheap and clean power energy to Pakistan each year to meet the demand for 5 million local people's power consumption, which will play an important role in alleviating Pakistan's power shortage, improving energy structure, and promoting sustainable economic development.

The Carlo Hydropower Station is located in the Callorot area next to Pakistan and is the fourth level of the Hydropower planning of the Jechlen River. The project broke the soil in April 2015, with a total investment of about 1.74 billion U.S. dollars, a total installed capacity of 720,000 kilowatts. After production, it is expected to save about 1.4 million tons of standard coal per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 3.5 million tons each year.
