The Chinese Ambassador to Australia put forward five suggestions on promoting the return of China -Australia relations to the return of healthy and stable development.

Xiao Qian said that the Australian election has been elected a new government recently, providing possible opportunities for the improvement of Sino -Australian relations. After the establishment of the Australian and New Government, there are some communication and exchanges between the two parties, which is very important to bilateral relations. How to maintain momentum and promote the correct track of bilateral relations to return to healthy and stable development at an early date requires two parties to consider and work together. Restarting Sino -Australian relations requires a practical action to achieve the following five aspects:

First of all, politically respect each other. Sino -Australian relations are the relationship between sovereign countries. Respecting each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity, political system and development model are the basic principles of the interaction between the two sides. The differences between the political and social systems of China and Australia are obvious, but as long as they adhere to mutual respect, they can live in harmony.

Secondly, it is necessary to be economically beneficial and win -win. The fruitful results achieved by the China -Australia exchanges and cooperation show that the nature of the relationship between the two countries is mutual benefit and win -win. It is foreseeable that this essence will not change in the future and will continue to be enhanced. At the same time, it should be seen that deepening the mutual cooperation between the two countries requires a good policy environment.

Third, safety should be objective and rational. There are extensive common interests between China and Australia, without historical resentment and fundamental conflicts. China's development strongly is an opportunity rather than a threat to Australia. The two countries have sufficient reasons to become friends and partners, not opponents and enemies.

Fourth, affairs in international regions must communicate and cooperate. China and Australia are important countries in the Asia -Pacific region. They are all open economies. They have extensive consensus under multiple multilateral frameworks. They have deepened cooperation in the fields of combating terrorism and transnational crimes, response to climate change, disaster reduction, and United Nations peacekeeping operations. The fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples are conducive to promoting peace, stability and prosperity in international and regional.

Fifth, contradictions and differences must be properly handled. The common interests of China and Australia are far greater than the differences. The two sides should continue to cooperate for the interests of the two countries and the peoples of the two countries. For the problem that is difficult to resolve for a while, we must strengthen the control and deal with it properly to avoid affecting the overall situation of the relationship between the two countries.

Xiao Qian emphasized that China -Australia relations are important to both parties.
