The Mianlong high -speed rail was opened on June 28, 2021, which ended the history of Luzhou and Zigong's inadequate high -speed rail. Due to the connection of "Sweet City" Neijiang, "Yancheng" Zigong, "Jiucheng" Luzhou, the self -rail section of the Mianlong high -speed rail is also known as the "three flavors" high -speed rail. The Chongqing Intercity Railway, the Chongqing high -speed rail under construction, is an important part of the urban railway network of Shuangcheng Economic Circle in Chengdu.

The opening of the section of the Mianlong high -speed rail improved the comprehensive urban transportation system, and connected the Neijiang, Zigong, Luzhou, and many cities along the tier to the southern urban groups, closer the city distance, strengthened the economic and cultural exchanges of cities along the line, and further improved to the cities along the line.
