In 1842, Fuzhou was opened as one of the "five -portal business ports", and foreign churches began to gradually enter the Fuzhou missionary school. In 1885, Fuzhou Yinghua College, founded by missionary Shi Meizhi, was the earliest school youth meeting established by China.

For the Christian Youth Conference that focuses on the development of the "moral and intellectual group", the venue of the event is very important. The Fuzhou Christian Youth Convention Building was advocated by Huang Naili, a patriotic overseas Chinese. Huang Naili was the chief of the three school chiefs of Fuzhou Yinghua, Peiyuan, and Gospel, and was elected as the president of the Fuzhou Christian Youth Association. Therefore, in 1912, Huang Naili began to build the Youth Club Building and donated 45,000 silver dollars in person. In 1916, this Fuzhou Christian Youth Club, which stands on the banks of the Fujian River, faces the Wanshou Bridge (now Jiefang Bridge), covers an area of ​​more than 3,000 square meters and a construction area of ​​more than 7,000 square meters.

The singing group taught "Da Dao", "The Volunteer's Army", "Yellow River Love" and other anti -Japanese rescue songs. When the members learned, they went to the streets to teach the masses to sing, and performed the drama "Put down your whip" and so on. In order to make the masses easy to accept, the lyrics also changed the lyrics to Fuzhou dialect.
