"Cub, come here for dinner." Lang Shunzhen, a breeder at the Shenshuiping base of the Giant Panda Garden, cordially called, and brought the cut carrots and steamed buns to the giant panda's circle.

Surrounded by the green mountains of Shenshuping Base, it is located in the Wolong Nature Reserve of Sichuan. It was aid by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. This is the home of the giant panda and the second hometown of Hong Kong girl Lang Shunzhen.

After eating delicious lunch, several giant panda cubs climbed to the tree and made a "dream". "I have been working at Shenshuiping Base for two years. Because of the impact of the epidemic, I have not returned to Hong Kong for a long time, but I can see the traces of Hong Kong's aid construction everywhere. I feel particularly kind." Lang Shunzhen said.

Lang Shunzhen was born in Hong Kong. He liked big pandas since he was a child. When he grew up, he finally realized his childhood dream. He became a giant panda breeder in Hong Kong Ocean Park and was responsible for taking care of the giant panda from the central government to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

In 1997, Hong Kong returned to the arms of the motherland. To celebrate the return of Hong Kong, the central government decided to give a pair of giant pandas to Hong Kong. Since then, Sichuan and Hong Kong have formed an inextricable bond around the giant pandas.

In May 1999, the panda "An An" and "Jiajia" officially met with Hong Kong citizens. Citizens came from all directions to see the national treasure style. On the 10th anniversary of the return of Hong Kong, the central government also presented Hong Kong's second pair of giant pandas "Lele" and "Yingying". Both giant pandas were born in 2005. Like "An An" and "Jiajia", they come from Sichuan Wolong Nature Reserve.

In 2016, the giant panda "Jiajia" died at the age of 38. It is the longest -lived panda in the world. Now, "Lele", "Yingying" and "An An" live in Hong Kong Ocean Park.

Not only are the pandas connected not only Sichuan and Hong Kong. In 2015, when Lang Shunzhen accompanied "Yingying" to return to the "blind date" of Wolong's hometown in Sichuan, he met his other half in Shenshuiping Base, Dong Chao, the Minister of the Animal Management Department. Two young hearts came together because of the panda. In 2018, Lang Shunzhen married to Wolong, Sichuan, and became a Sichuan daughter -in -law. Today, they have a 4 -year -old son to form a happy family of three.

On May 12, 2008, the sudden Wenchuan earthquake caused huge losses to the China Panda Protection Research Center. All Wolong Walnut Ping Base was destroyed, and the road to the outside world was severely damaged. Hong Kong, which has a deep friendship with Giant Panda with Sichuan, decided to assist the construction of the China Panda Protection Research Center and related facilities, a total of 23 post -reconstruction projects, and the construction of approximately 1.422 billion yuan.

On May 11, 2016, the Chinese Giant Panda Court opened the park smoothly, which marked the completion of Hong Kong's aid construction of Wolong. In order to thank Hong Kong for help, the Wolong Shenshuiping Base of the Great Panda Protection Research Center and the Dujiangyan base will be open forever for free to Hong Kong citizens.

"Although I can't return to Hong Kong for the time being, I miss the" Lele 'and "Yingying", and often share with Hong Kong colleagues' work experience and latest information about the panda. "Lang Shunzhen said.

With panda as the media, the China Panda Protection Research Center has established more and more cooperation and exchanges with Hong Kong. When the panda entered the estrus period in previous years, the China Panda Protection Research Center will deliberately send members to Hong Kong to assist the animal care and veterinary team in the park. In the past two years, experts from the China Panda Protection Research Center were unable to go to Hong Kong, but the two sides soon formulated an alternative.
