China supports the provision of necessary resource guarantees for the United Nations peacekeeping operation. The peacekeeping budget should be maintained at a reasonable scale. The secretariat should strengthen financial performance management and effectively improve the representativeness of the staff.

The delegation said that in the past period, the security threats faced by peacekeepers have further increased, and the casualties of peacekeeping personnel have continued, which is distressed. China is the largest peacekeeping country in the Security Council. China has called for and supporting the United Nations to strictly implement relevant resolutions and initiatives of the Security Council and the United Nations University, take effective measures to ensure the investment in resources, and promote further progress in the security agenda of peacekeeping personnel. China will, as always, firmly maintain and practice multilateralism, maintain the purpose and principles of the United Nations Charter, call for continuous improvement of the United Nations fiscal situation and strengthen management, and support the United Nations to play a greater role in responding to global challenges.
