On the evening of June 22, Northwestern University of Technology issued a public statement saying that the school's email system has recently been attacked by cyber attacks and has a negative impact on the normal teaching life of the school. The school had reported the police for the first time, and was preliminarily determined by the public security organs.

Western Institute of Technology stated that it has not caused important data leaks from foreign fishing emails and has not caused major cyber security incidents.

At 15:00 on April 12, 2022, the Tai Bai Road Police Station received an alarm from the Informatization Construction and Management Office of Northwest China University of Technology. Fishing emails contain a Trojan horse program, which seduces some teachers and students to click the link to illegally obtain the right to log in to the teacher and student email, resulting in the risk of stolen relevant email data. At the same time, some faculty employees have also found traces of network attacks in personal Internet computers. The above -mentioned behavior of sending fishing mail and launching online attacks has caused a major security threat to the information system in Northwestern University of Technology and the important data of the majority of teachers and students. After receiving the police, our bureau immediately organized the Internet Security Brigade to conduct investigation and evidence, initially grasped the relevant facts, extracted the Trojan horse procedures and fishing mail samples, and fixed relevant evidence in accordance with the law.

At present, our bureau has conducted investigation on the case in accordance with Article 285 of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China, and further carried out technical analysis of the extracted Trojan and fishing mail samples. Initially judged that this incident was a network attacks initiated by overseas hackers and criminals.

Police tips: There is no trivial matter of network security. Any individual or organization is in accordance with the provisions of Article 14 of the Cyber ​​Security Law of the People's Republic of China, reporting to the online security department of the local public security organs in accordance with the provisions of Article 14 of the People's Republic of China. The organs will resolutely crack down on relevant illegal crimes in accordance with the law.
