According to statistics released by Huangpu Customs on June 22, in May, Dongguan's foreign trade imports and exports were 122.38 billion yuan, an increase of 5.9%year -on -year and a decrease of 3.4%month -on -month. Among them, exports were 85.29 billion yuan, an increase of 25%year -on -year; imports were 37.09 billion yuan, a year -on -year decrease of 21.7%.

Data show that the processing trade in Dongguan has declined slightly, and market procurement exports have grown rapidly. In May, general trade imports and exports were 50.1 billion yuan, an increase of 3.6%, accounting for 40.9%of the total import and export value of Dongguan City (the same below) in the same period; Import and exports were 24.27 billion yuan, a decrease of 1.9%, accounting for 19.8%. During the same period, the market procurement exports were 9.87 billion yuan, an increase of 252.2%.

In terms of transportation, water transportation has increased significantly and accounts for more than half, and road transportation continues to decline. In May, the import and export of water transportation was 69.32 billion yuan, an increase of 99.5%, accounting for 55.8%, which drove Dongguan's foreign trade growth by 29.5 percentage points; 6.64 billion yuan, an increase of 45%. In terms of market, Dongguan's imports and exports to countries along the “Belt and Road” were 32.44 billion yuan, an increase of 33.9%; the import and export of other member states for RCEP was 37.02 billion yuan, an increase of 3.4%.
