Energy prices have soared, Danish giants have announced that they have suspended tomatoes and cucumbers this winter

The soaring energy prices so that ordinary people in Northern European countries felt the chills of winter in advance. Denmark's largest tomato manufacturer recently announced that due to the high price of fuel required for greenhouse production, tomatoes and cucumbers will be discontinued this winter.

According to the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, due to the significant increase in the cost of maintaining greenhouse greenhouses, Denmark's largest tomato producer, Nordic Biofe high, announced the suspension of production this winter. Tomatoes and cucumbers will not be produced throughout the winter, which is the first time in 15 years.

Denmark has 100 greenhouses to rely on natural gas to produce completely or to a certain extent. The energy crisis has greatly affected the horticultural crop industry. Manufacturers cooperating with these greenhouses are considering the possibility of stopping production in winter.

Danish Statistics Bureau data shows that, driven by the soaring energy price, the Danish consumer price index increased by 8.7%from the same period last year. In August, Danish electricity and natural gas prices rose to five times the same period last year.

The Denmark Energy Agency stated that due to Russia's suspension of natural gas, and this summer, European droughts have caused the water level to be too low, and the air resources are not ideal, resulting in a shortage of electricity, and the electricity price remains high.

In order to spend the upcoming winter, the Danish Energy Agency suggested that the public saves energy in various ways, such as dense sealing of windows, lowering heating temperature, and reducing the use of hot water.

The Danish government announced that the room temperature of public buildings shall not exceed 19 degrees Celsius from October 1, and all unnecessary decoration and lighting lights outside the public building facilities are closed. The Danish government also reached an agreement with the parliament to provide Denmark Electric Power Corporation with 100 billion Dan Ying Krona guarantees to stabilize the price of the power market and ensure the security of supply.
