The reporter learned from the official website of the Sichuan Forestry and Grassland Bureau on September 26 that the bureau drafted the "Compensation Measures for the Mentoring of Land Wildlife in Sichuan Province (Draft for Opinions)" and is currently publicly soliciting opinions.

The "Measures" clarify the scope of compensation for personal damage and property losses to wild animals; if wildlife causes deaths, subsidized death compensation and funeral expenses, the total amount is 15 times the annual per capita disposable income of the residents of the last year.

The "Measures" also mentioned that not all situations will be compensated, including active attacks, teasing or intentional damage to wild animals; if illegal activities such as illegal hunting are involved, they will not compensate.

The "Measures" also clearly stated that if wild animals are seriously injured, the competent department of Weijian shall coordinate relevant medical institutions to implement emergency medical assistance to the victims. Relevant medical institutions adopt the treatment of the victims before treatment and settlement, and shall not be delayed and pushed due to treatment costs. For wild animals that are endangering the safety of citizens, relevant departments, units and individuals can adopt the killing of the scene according to the situation.
