On September 24, 2022 local time, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the general debate of the 77th UN General Assembly at the United Nations headquarters of New York and delivered a speech.

Wang Yi said that China has always been the maintenanceer of international order. We have always firmly maintained the purpose and principles of the United Nations Charter, maintaining the international system with the United Nations as the core, and maintaining international order based on international law. China has participated in multilateral affairs in all aspects, and has joined almost all international organizations and more than 600 international conventions of universal government. It has concluded more than 27,000 bilateral treaties to earnestly fulfill its international obligations. China has always followed the "World Human Rights Declaration", guaranteed and strengthened China's human rights cause, and resolutely opposed the politics of human rights and promoted the healthy development of international human rights cooperation.

Wang Yi emphasized that as a member of developing countries, China will always stand on the side of the majority of developing countries. We are sincere in the rapid progress of developing countries in recent years. We will continue to speak for developing countries for righteousness, relieve rescue difficulties, and fully support the enhancement of developing countries' representativeness and speech in international affairs. In the international multilateral process, the majority of developing countries are no longer a "silent majority". China and developing countries have become more united and make a voices of justice, becoming the mainstay of promoting development cooperation and maintaining fairness and justice.
