The project uses the power tunnel to lay 500 kV high -voltage cables with a length of about 21 kilometers. It is currently the longest 500 kV land cable. It is planned to be put into production in 2023, and the annual transportation power is about 8.8 billion kilowatt -hours, which is equivalent to the electricity consumption of the two Liwan Districts throughout the year.

The 500 kV transmission line is equivalent to the arterial blood vessels of the power grid. It is usually an overhead line. This project is a key project for Southern Power Grid Corporation to ensure people's livelihood power consumption. It aims to meet the needs of load growth in the central and southern parts of Guangzhou and improve the security and reliability of power supply in the central urban area of ​​Guangzhou.

At the same time, the project is also an important supporting project of the 500 kV Churning substation in Guangzhou, and it is an important guarantee for the smooth operation of the Chu Ting substation. After the project is completed, it will effectively solve the problem of heavy loading of 500 kV Guangnan substation, eliminate wind power at the western western sea, and accept DC power delivery electricity in Jiangmen, Zhongshan, Zhuhai and other regions. At the same time, the project also reserved the conditions for power supply to the central and eastern power grids of Foshan for the long -term Guangfo Tongcheng.

According to reports, the Chu Ting-Guangnan 500 KV cable line project is the first 500-kV cable line project since the establishment of the Guangzhou Power Supply Bureau. The construction is difficult and the technical requirements are the highest in history.

There are 212 sets of intermediate joints across the entire line. Any connector failure will cause high -pressure cables to stop.
