The Baihetan Hydropower Station is located on the downstream dry flow section of the Jinsha River at the junction of Ningnan County, Sichuan Province and Qiaojia County, Yunnan Province.

The Baihetan Hydropower Station is equipped with a total of 16 single -machine capacity of 1 million kilowatts of water wheel generator sets. Among them, units 1 to 8 are arranged in the left bank plant, and units 9 to 16 are arranged in the right bank plant.
