Department of Commerce: China expressed concern about the clause of discriminatory electric vehicle subsidies in the U.S. "Inflation Act"

The United States' "Angle Act" has officially become legislation. At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Commerce held today (September 22), a spokesman said that the United States, as a member of the WTO, should implement relevant investment policies in the way of the WTO rules and maintain a fair competition in trade order. China will continue to track the follow -up implementation of US legislation, and will take measures to safeguard their legitimate rights and interests if necessary.

The Ministry of Commerce said that China has expressed concern about the clauses of discriminatory electric vehicles in the "Inflation Act" recently passed by the United States. Related measures are based on the premise of providing subsidies such as local assembly in North America, forming discrimination against other imports of similar products, and suspected of violating the principles of the most beneficial benefits of the WTO and national treatment.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, Shu Jingsing: We noticed that there are already members of other WTO members who have expressed serious concerns about the measures of the United States. As a member of the WTO, the United States shall implement relevant investment policies in a way that meets the rules of the WTO and maintain a trade order of fair competition.
