The number of Top 100 town in Jiangsu reached 41, followed by 30 Guangdong, 9 Zhejiang, 9 in Shandong, 4 in Fujian, 2 in Hebei, 2 in Hunan, 1 Henan, 1 Jiangxi, and 1 Guizhou. The permanent population of the top 100 town in China is 232,200, the average public budget revenue is 1.859 billion yuan, the total industrial output value is 57.8 billion yuan, the average number of industrial enterprises is 3056, and the average number of industrial enterprises above designated size are 281.

The "2021 Township Comprehensive Competitiveness Report" was jointly issued by institutions such as competitive think tanks, China Development Reform News and Beijing Zhongxin City Planning and Design Research Institute. The evaluation of comprehensive competitiveness of China's townships is based on the national townships (excluding streets, farms, groups, etc.) as the research object, and evaluate comprehensive competitiveness of townships in the country from the aspects of economic scale, economic vitality, and per capita level.
