The China Earthquake Network officially measured that at 14:44 on September 18, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake occurred in Hualien County, Taiwan, with a depth of 10 kilometers.Taiwan's "United News Network" quoted the latest data report of the Taiwan Disaster Response Center on the 19th that as of 11 pm on the 18th, the earthquake died and 142 people were injured.

It is reported that there are 76 people in Hualien County, 55 people in Taitung County, 4 people in Kaohsiung City, 2 in New Taipei City, 2 in Taoyuan City, 2 in Pingtung County, and 1 in Chiayi County.The eastern Hualien was severely created, with two bridges broken and 3 buildings collapsed.The earthquake also caused Hualien to break the water and the electricity and the Taiwan Railway in many places, and some sections were still going to traffic.
