The central and provincial (autonomous region, including municipalities), municipalities (including deputy provincial, prefecture -level cities, and autonomous prefectures) are usually called ×× daily newspapers, such as the People's Daily, Beijing Daily, and Qinhuangdao Daily. At present, all provincial party newspapers are called ×× daily. However, there are many forms of the municipal party committee organs.

The first is the place name+Evening News. For example, "Changsha Evening News", "Xining Evening News" and "Quanzhou Evening News". They are newspapers in Changsha City, Hunan Province, Xining City, Qinghai Province, and Quanzhou City, Fujian Province.

From the middle of the last century to the beginning of this century, many cities, especially the provincial capital, had the functions of the "Evening News" agency. Later, the "Daily" was successively established, and the "Evening News" was transformed into a pure urban newspaper.

The reason why the provincial capital cities do not hold the "Daily" is because the daily newspapers of the Provincial Party Committee were published in the provincial capital. When it comes to the "Daily", I know it is the provincial party committee; when the "Evening News" is the municipal party committee. Among them, "Changsha Evening News" was the most representative. It was named "Changsha Daily" in 1956. It was changed to "Evening News" in 1961. In 1978, it was "Daily" and changed to "Evening News" in 1981.

The second is directly called ×× newspaper. For example, "Yanfu Popular News", "Jinggangshan Daily" and "Dawn" are the municipal party committee newspapers in Yancheng City, Jiangxi Province, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, and Suzhou City, Anhui Province.
