The International Forum on High -quality Development of Meteorology is held in Beijing

On September 15th, the International Forum, hosted by the China Meteorological Administration and the Meteorological Development and Planning Institute (hereinafter referred to as the "Development Planning Institute"), was held in Beijing. The theme of this forum is "Sharing the Development Strategy and Muting a Better Future", which aims to share strategic planning and effective development experience, build an international exchange and cooperation platform for meteorological strategy research, from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), European mid -term weather weather Representatives of the Forecast Center (ECMWF), the European Meteorological Satellite Development Organization (Eumetsat), and 14 countries and regions participate in the forum through online and offline ways. Zhuang Guotai, director of the China Meteorological Administration, WMO's permanent representative of China, and WMO Secretary -General Petre Tallas made a speech by video. Zhang Zuqiang, deputy director of the China Meteorological Administration, chaired the forum.

Zhuang Guotai pointed out that with the support of the Chinese government and related departments, the China Meteorological Administration vigorously promoted the high -quality development of meteorological. The China Meteorological Administration will continuously strengthen the research and technological research in the fields of earth system numerical forecasting models, disaster weather forecasting and other fields, and will iterate the construction of meteorological basic capabilities such as precision monitoring, accurate forecasting, fine service, and information support system. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the restoration of WMO legitimate seats in New China. The China Meteorological Administration is willing to share the experience and achievements of China's meteorological development with other WMO members through channels such as the World Meteorological Center (Beijing) and Regional Training Center. Satellite global services and the "Belt and Road" meteorological cooperation have made greater contributions to the development of WMO and the development of the global meteorological industry, and contribute meteorological wisdom and strength to the construction of a community of human destiny.

Petry Tallas congratulated the performance of the forum and the achievements of China's meteorological industry. He pointed out that the China Meteorological Administration has advanced infrastructure, precision observation systems and high -level talent teams, which has become one of the world's leading meteorological departments and has made important contributions to global greenhouse gas monitoring and response to climate change. He thanked the Chinese Meteorological Administration for helping the construction of meteorological capabilities in the underdeveloped countries. He hoped that China would continue to share advanced experience and practices, continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with WMO, and contribute to the development of the global meteorological industry.

At the meeting, Zhang Wenjian, Assistant Secretary -General of WMO, representatives of ECMWF, EUMETSAT, and WMO Asia and Southwest Pacific Regional Office to exchange the strategic development plan of various organizations. The representatives of the China Meteorological Administration combined with the "Outline of Meteorological High -quality Development (2022-2035). "The" Fourteenth Five -Year Plan "of the National Meteorological Development" was exchanged.

It is reported that this forum is the first time that the "appreciated" academic forum of the Development Planning Institute for the first time facing the international meteorological community for high -level exchange activities.
