The location of the project and the surrounding areas is mainly agriculture, and there are basically no large -scale industrial and mining enterprises. In recent years, Tunisia's economy is downturn, and the local unemployment rate is high. Except for dozens of Chinese technology and managers in China Electric Power, all other construction personnel are recruited from the local area and currently hire nearly 300 locals. Lu Mingjun said that Chinese -funded enterprises abide by local employment regulations, respect local people's living customs, and issue salary on time, and they are well reputated in the local mouth.

Qiu Yusheng said that the Meleig Dam is an environmentally friendly dam. The main dam and the two sidelines on the left bank are currently new dam types. The Melag dam is expected to be completed in September 2023.
