Zhuang Guotai led the 75th session of the World Meteorological Organization Executive Council announced that two Chinese "star" "star" data products were shared globally

On June 20, the 75th session of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Executive Council kicked off in the form of online and offline combination. WMO Chairman Gilhard Ariderian, Secretary -General Petre Tallas, and some members of the executive council attended the meeting in Geneva, Switzerland. Zhuang Guotai, Director of the China Meteorological Administration, WMO's permanent representative, and member of the WMO Executive Council, led a meeting to attend the meeting in Beijing. Yu Yong, deputy director of the China Meteorological Administration, attended the meeting.

The meeting will be discussed around WMO reform evaluation, the implementation of the strategic plan of 2020-2023, the formulation of strategic plans from 2024-2027, the UN global early warning system, and related issues.

After listening to the reports of Gilhad Aridrian and Petre Tallas, Zhuang Guotai spoke at the plenary speech that WMO's development should better reflect the new needs of economic and social meteorological work. He suggested that the assessment of the results of the early reform should be done to further reflect how members, especially developing countries to benefit from reform; check the key tasks determined before, such as new data policies, global basic observation networks, observation system financing mechanisms, etc. Promoting implementation; do the top -level design work such as the guidance of further reform in the future. Zhuang Guotai proposed that it is necessary to pay attention to the UN Secretary -General of the United Nations Antonio Gutres' initiative to develop a global early warning system by WMO to develop the global early warning system by WMO this year's World Meteorological Day and formulate a corresponding implementation plan.

Zhuang Guotai also announced at the meeting that the Fengyun 3 E star, Fengyun No. 4 and its ground application system launched in China in 2021 have been transferred to business trial operation on June 1 this year. Main data products will be opened to global users. The China Meteorological Administration will continue to promote the storm and meteorological satellite to contribute to the disaster prevention and mitigation of WMO and its members.

In response, Petry Tallas said in response to Zhuang Guotai's opinions on the ability to attach importance to the capacity building of developing countries in early warning, and highly appreciate and gratitude to the operation of Fengyun Meteorological Satellite and high -quality products.

The Executive Council is the executive agency of WMO and generally holds at least once a year.
