Chen Xu said that China praised Sri Lanka to actively promote and protect human rights, especially in the aspects of promoting reconciliation and reconstruction, anti -terrorism, etc. As a traditional friendship neighbor, China has firmly supported Sri Lanka to safeguard national sovereignty and independence, maintain social stability, and achieve economic recovery. It is believed that the Sri Lanka can lead the people to overcome temporary difficulties.
Chen Xu said that the Human Rights Council's resolutions are the products of politicalization. They have not followed the principles of justice, objective, and non -selective principles. China opposes any country to seek geopolitical interests by the situation, and urges relevant parties to respect the path of human rights development independently selected by the national conditions to abandon the practice of political pressure and interference in the internal affairs of Sri Lanka by borrowing human rights issues.
