It is reported that the west extension of the Changwang Road is the city's main road, with a total length of 5.2 kilometers, a width of 46 meters, a two -way 6 lane, a design speed of 60 kilometers per hour, and a total investment of about 1.11 billion yuan. The project spans Yuelu District and Wangcheng District. It is located in the core area of the modern service industry corridor of the Xiangjiang West Coast of Xiangjiang New District, Hunan and Hunan New District. The road, connecting the North Second Ring to the southeast, and the Changwang Road directly reached the Fuyuan Road Bridge.

According to the principle of "unified planning, staging section construction" principle, the Changwang Road West Extension Line is divided into three standard sections. Earlier, the Changwang Road west extension line (Golden Avenue -Langtang Tunnel section) was built. At the same time, the last section of Changwang Road West Yan Line (Golden Star Road -North Second Ring Section) was launched in June this year. The standard section is 1.7 kilometers long. The construction is planned to be completed in 2025.

The West Extension of Changwang Road is an important one of the main roads in Changsha Expressway, and its geographical location fills the regional blank.
