A few days ago, the China Chain Management Association released the 2022 China City Convenience Store Index. The core data is the saturation of 39 cities' convenience stores in the survey, the growth rate of the total number of stores, the proportion of 24 -hour convenience stores, and the business environment. Xiamen continued to sit first with 92 points, followed by Taiyuan, Dongguan, Guangzhou, and Changsha.

Since 2014, the China Chain Management Association has investigated and released the development index of China's urban convenience store for nine consecutive years. The core data of the index is the saturation of convenience stores in each city, the growth rate of the total number of stores, the proportion of 24 -hour convenience stores, and the business environment. On this basis, the development index of convenience stores in each city was calculated. The results of this survey show that convenience stores in most cities have achieved different degrees of growth year -on -year, and the development differences between convenience stores between cities are gradually expanding. The development trend of convenience stores has continued to sink to the market in fourth and fifth -tier cities.

In terms of growth, in 39 cities, the number of convenience stores in Xiamen increased the highest growth rate, reaching 10.34%. In terms of saturation, Xiamen ranks fifth, with an average of 3,227 people with a convenience store. Compared with last year, the proportion of 24 -hour convenience stores increased by 3.8 percentage points to 43.8%. In the past year, Xiamen has opened 2,264 convenience stores, which has opened a total of 1/3 of the total number of new convenience stores in the past 5 years.

The continuous improvement of the business environment is a guarantee for convenience stores to maintain healthy development. Last year, the city issued the "Several Measures for Promoting Consumption Growth in Xiamen City", which rewarded the new stores of large chain convenience stores and fresh convenience store companies in the city. The 13 departments jointly issued the "Several Measures on Further Promoting the Development of Xiamen Fresh Convenience Stores", which fully promoted Xiamen to become the first batch of cities in the country to be shortlisted for one -minute clocks.

As a physical retail format, the continuous high of rent and labor costs is the biggest challenge that affects the development of convenience stores. From a nationwide perspective, the proportion of 24 -hour convenience stores in the city is still not high, and the regional differentiation is obvious. This difference is mainly caused by market factors such as consumption habits, economic level, and operating costs.
