Xinhua News Agency, Brussels, September 9 (Reporter Kang Yi) The EU Energy Minister Special Meeting was held on the 9th in Brussels, Belgium. The EU Minister of Energy's Energy Minister agreed to formulate emergency measures as soon as possible to alleviate rising energy prices.
Since the outbreak of the Ukraine crisis, affected by the EU's anti -baying effect on Russia's sanctions, European energy supply is tight, and the prices of electricity and natural gas have soared significantly, which has caused a lot of pressure on the European inflation situation and the EU economy.
The EU's rotating chairman of the Czech Republic of Industry and Trade Joseph Sikra said at a press conference on the same day that the meeting reached an agreement on the common direction of emergency measures. The European Commission will make powerful and practical suggestions in a few days to do everything possible to help people and enterprises facing high energy prices.
EU member of EU Council Cadri Simatong, who is responsible for energy affairs, said at a press conference that extreme weather this summer has exacerbated the imbalance of energy supply and demand. Some member states are affected by hydropower and nuclear power production and energy supply, and households and enterprises need further assistance and protection.
It is reported that the emergency measures proposed by the European Commission include: coordinating EU member states to reduce power demand; the upper limit of income settings of low -cost power generation companies, taxation on the profit of fossil fuel power generation companies; formulating emergency and temporary intervention measures, including considering natural gas to natural gas Set up price limit.
The European Commission has previously put forward a suggestion for setting up the price limit for natural gas exported by Russia, and EU member states have large differences in this. Some member states worry that this measure will further affect Russia's natural gas supply to Europe. Some member states believe that this move will not help the price of natural gas that is constantly rising.
The European Commission is expected to announce the specific details of the emergency measures next week, and will be discussed by the governments of all member states. The EU Energy Minister will hold a meeting again to negotiate and approve the final version.
