In the past ten years, I went to 10 countries including Vanuatu, Fiji, Maldives, and Senegal 14 times. For nearly 3,000 patients with eye diseases, they performed surgery for more than 700 cataract patients and sowed light with medical skills.

Those unforgettable pasts that treat patients with eye diseases in a foreign country are like films, which are still vividly vividly vividly visible. On November 16, 2013, I led the ophthalmology team to Vanuatu in the South Pacific. At that time, they did not know about Chinese doctors. From their attitude, I realized that we must do their best to show the strength and style of Chinese doctors. Under the relatively simple local medical conditions, we overcome difficulties. In just 10 minutes, we completed the first cataract surgery. A patient who was completely blind before surgery and was supported by us to walk into the operating room. He saw the light after the operation and walked out of the operating room by himself. He hugged us excitedly and couldn't even speak. The small hospital suddenly sounded warm applause. I know that we have successfully taken the first step to interpret the hard power of Chinese doctors with a surgery knife.

I still remember the first time to go to the Maldives. We completed 33 cases of leukemia in just a few hours, setting a record with the most local single -day cataract surgery. The director of the local hospital touched: "China has sent the top experts to perform surgery for our patients, which fully reflects China's respect for our people." The president of Hulmajian Hospital sent a gratitude plaque to the medical team, affectionate I wrote: "You light up our eyes and illuminate our hearts!"

In Fiji, I have conducted free consultation surgery at the colonial war commemorative hospital many times. This is the largest ophthalmology center of the South Pacific Island country and the training center of medical staff. Here, we have completed more than 60 operations a day. Some local doctors cannot perform surgery. We finished it soon. Every time we visit, doctors in almost the country have heard the news to observe the operation.

In foreign countries, we are a medical team of only a few people, but we assume the work of a small ophthalmology hospital. I designed the white coat dedicated to our foreign aid and embroidered the bright red national flag in the left sleeve. Whenever the patient asks our name, I will proudly answer: "Please call me a Chinese doctor!"
