Wang Wenbin: June 20 this year is the 22nd World Refugee Day.

We noticed the recent annual report released by the UN Refugee Agency that the total number of refugees, refugee applicants, and outsiders who had escaped from the country for conflict or persecution exceeded 100 million for the first time. According to the latest survey data of the United Nations Children's Foundation, as of the end of 2021, the number of children who had departed from fault due to conflict, violence and other crises reached 36.5 million, a new high since World War II.

These distressed numbers highlight the impact caused by a few countries' wanton external aggression and interference. Data show that the number of refugees created by the United States after the "September 11" was between 49 million and 60 million. Among them, 11 million people in Afghanistan have become refugees. The United States launched a war under the banner of "democracy" and "human rights", leaving the messy stalls after leaving the stalls, but the people of the regional countries have to face a fate, poverty and backward, and unknown future. What the United States has done is the biggest promoter of the world's refugee issues and is a rude trample on world human rights.

I also noticed that Grandi, a senior commissioner of the United Nations refugee affairs, recently wrote that some countries will protect the responsibility of refugees and even "store" them elsewhere in the world. The wealthy countries with the most resources are building isolation walls, closed borders, or expelled refugees who cross the ocean. This is a contempt and trample on the concept of refugee protection.

Refugee Day is only one day, but the difficult situation of refugees occurs every day. Some Western countries led by the United States have long exported wars and turmoil, interference in other domestic affairs, and humanitarian disasters, and are the initiator of refugee issues. We urge the country to seriously reflect on the evil results caused by our own behavior, effectively eliminate the root cause of refugees, and assume the responsibility of refugee issues. China is willing to work together with the international community to firmly support multilateralism, and play a positive role in improving the global refugee protection system and promoting the solution of refugee issues.
