On September 6, the water level of Xingzi Station on the representative station of Poyang Lake was retreated to 7.99 meters, and Poyang Lake, the largest freshwater lake in China, officially entered the polar dry period. At 9 o'clock on that day, in the Matsmen Waters of Songmen, the Provincial Aquatic Biological Protection Rescue Center conducted scientific monitoring, marking the official launch of Poyang Lake's first low -withered aquatic biological resource monitoring.

The monitoring is a positive response based on the current continuous low water level on Poyang Lake aquatic creatures that may have an impact, and adopt a franchise operation method. It mainly monitor the types of aquatic organisms, population structures, and habitat environment in Poyang Lake's dry water period. In order to ensure science and accuracy, the Provincial Agricultural and Rural Affairs Department has been unified, and a total of 111 monitoring points have been set up in the province, covering 91 counties (cities, districts). The monitoring waters cover the Yangtze River, Poyang Lake, Ganjiang, Fuhe, Xinjiang, Raohe, and Xiuhe, including 35 aquatic biological protection areas, and the monitoring time is about 2 months.

It is understood that last month, Poyang Lake entered the low -withered period in advance, which mainly included two aspects on Poyang Lake aquatic creature: on the one hand, the current downside of the aquatic biological crawling bait, the continued decline in the water level led The decrease in the amplitude affects the effect of aquatic biological fat; on the other hand, the bottom of the Poyang Lake is complicated, the gully is uneven, and the rapid decline in the water level will cause some aquatic creatures to be besieged in the small water body to die. In this regard, relevant departments have also taken active response measures to increase patrol efforts to avoid causing explosive fish diseases; for small water bodies that may be besieged, open up the main river channel, and let the small water biology naturally return to the main river channel as much as possible.
