Sichuan Luding Sudden Sight 6.8 Earthquake, Expert: It will not affect the life of Wuhan citizens

The Yangtze River Daily Da Wuhan client September 5th (Reporter's administration) At 12:52 on September 5th, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan (29.59 degrees north latitude, 102.08 degrees east longitude), with a depth of 16 kilometers. Earthquake experts from the Wuhan Emergency Administration (Wuhan Earthquake Bureau) said that the Sichuan Luding earthquake is about 1,100 kilometers from Wuhan, and Wuhan City has no sense of earthquakes, which will not affect the normal production and life of citizens.

Zeng Ke, a senior engineer of the Wuhan Emergency Administration, introduced that the earthquake occurred in the Fresh Water River Fracture Belt, and it was related to the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake and the Lushan earthquake in 2013. After the Luding earthquake, there was a sense of earthquake reports in Xiangyang, Shiyan and other places in Hubei. Due to the distance from Wuhan, it was not in the same seismic geological structure unit. Therefore, the Luding earthquake had no substantial impact on Wuhan.

Zeng Ke said that from the overall situation of the country, Wuhan has a large population, intensive industries, rapid economic and social development, and geological structure is in the composite part of the second sinking belt and Huaiyangshan font in the Xinhua Xia Department. Although no destructive earthquake occurred, it was affected by out -of -the -domain earthquakes. On December 26, 2019, a magnitude 4.9 earthquake occurred in Xiaogen Yingcheng, and Wuhan's sense of earthquake was obvious. Therefore, Wuhan also needs the whole society to do a good job of earthquake resistance and earthquake emergency work together, continuously improve the citizens' awareness of shockproof and risk aversion, and indeed maintain the safety of the people's lives and property.
