According to the formal determination of the China Earthquake Network, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred at Luding County, Sichuan at 12:52 on September 5th. The depth of the earthquake was 16 kilometers.

The Wanggang Ping Scenic Area is located in the territory of Asamali County, Ya'an City, not far from the earthquake.Yang Zhenzhi, the person in charge of the scenic area operator, told the cover reporter that after the earthquake, he had contacted the staff of the scenic area through the satellite telephone.The initial understanding is that there are no casualties in the scenic spot, and tourists and staff have moved down the mountain safely.

"But because Wang Gangting is closer to the earthquake, the mountain collapse is serious, and the property loss is being evaluated. It is mainly due to the losses of ropeways and the center of the visitor center." Yang Zhenzhi said.
