Hulun Lake is the largest lake in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It plays an important role in protecting biodiversity, regulating regional climate, conservation of water sources, preventing desertification, maintaining the ecological balance of grassland, and ecological security in northern my country. As one of the important core areas of the Hulun Lake Reserve, Ulannor is the area with the largest number of birds and the most biodiversity, and has irreplaceable ecological value. Every April and May, the ice melts, and Ulannor becomes a paradise for migratory birds, and countless birds inhabit here.

"Due to the congestion and droughts of water sources, Ulannor was dry for a while, and the fish and birds lost their survival home. Later, through timely implementing ecological governance projects, the waters and wetlands were recovered." 57 -year -old management station Webmaster Li Guohai introduced.

In 1997, Li Guohai went to the Ulannor's management station to witness the changes here, so it was more clear about the importance of management and protection. He and his companions were greedy early, and important areas must be patrolled several times a day in order to discover injured and sick birds in time, and to prevent human interference and destroying wetlands and river channels.

In 2009, Li Guohai left the Ulannor Management Station due to his work. In May 2022, when he returned to work again after 13 years, Ulannor's birds had increased from more than 100 to 200 types, and fish also increased significantly.

Li Guohai said that from the establishment of the management station in 1986 to the present, nine management guards have been guarded here. They are accompanied by birds all year round and friends with wetlands. Where the birds built a new nest and where the chicks were breed, whether or not they were sick, they always paid attention to it.

In a few years, the older generation of managers will retire. What is gratifying is that a group of young people are joining the team's team to take over to protect them.
